1. Data we store

Hisab Kitab stores the financial records you choose to enter: transactions, accounts, categories, budgets, goals, investments, subscriptions, payment alarms, and the app preferences you select (currency, theme, language, notifications, etc.).

When you enable App Lock, we also store a hashed PIN and biometric preference locally. This information is used only to secure access on your device.

2. Local-only mode

If you choose "Continue without an account", all data stays on your device. It is stored using on-device SQLite and secure storage. Nothing is uploaded, no cloud account is created, and we cannot read it.

Uninstalling the app removes local data permanently. Use export if you want a backup file before removing the app.

3. Cloud accounts

When you create a cloud account, your email address and selected records sync across your devices using Supabase. Data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS/TLS and protected at rest by the cloud provider.

Access is restricted by row-level security, so only your signed-in account can read your records. Receipt photos are stored in a private bucket and served through short-lived signed URLs.

Your PIN and biometric data never leave your device. Biometric authentication is handled by your operating system and is not transmitted to our servers.

4. Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not sell your data to anyone.
  • We do not share your transactions with advertisers.
  • We do not use third-party advertising networks or cross-app tracking SDKs.
  • We do not access your contacts, location, microphone, call/SMS data, or photos except for receipt images you explicitly attach.

5. Permissions explained

  • Notifications: used only for payment alarms, budget alerts, and reminders you opt into.
  • Biometrics: used locally to unlock the app when App Lock is enabled. Biometric data never leaves your device.
  • Camera / Photo Library: used only when you attach a receipt photo to a transaction.
  • Storage: used only when you export or import a backup file.

6. Ads & purchases

This app is free to use. It does not display advertising and does not offer in-app purchases, subscriptions, or paywalls in the current release.

7. Your rights

You can export your data at any time from Profile → Export. You can also permanently delete your cloud account and associated records from Profile → Delete Account.

Local-only data is removed automatically when you uninstall the app. If local data is deleted by mistake, restore it from a backup file if you have one.

Where local law provides additional data-protection rights, those rights apply in addition to this policy. We aim to respect global privacy expectations and regional regulations.

8. Children

Hisab Kitab is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material updates to this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, notify you in the app before the change takes effect.

11. Crash reporting & diagnostics

When enabled, anonymous diagnostic reports may be sent to Sentry to help us identify and fix crashes or errors.

These reports include only technical details such as error type, stack trace, app version, device model, OS version, and a random identifier. They do not include your transaction data, balances, email, name, or any screen content.

This data is used only to improve app stability and is never sold or used for advertising.
